Choosing the correct accommodation for your stay is vital in such a large city as Bangkok. Central downtown Bangkok has every kind of hotel you could ever want, catering for all budgets. Best of all it's where you can find all the fun and culture which we associate with Thailand. You can find all these hotels off of Sukhumvit Road between Soi 4 – Soi 33.
If you are looking for a hotel near the airport (which is very convenient, but limited on activities or social events); there are many to choose from, but for the reasons stated they may be lacking in atmosphere, good street food and culture, therefore not recommended.

Central downtown Bangkok and the areas best hotels are between 25 minutes – 1.5 hour from the Suvarnabhumi Airport dependent on rush hour traffic, and the time of day that you choose to travel. For fast and convenient travel, the sky train runs from Suvarnabhumi Airport offering transport links across Bangkok.
